Ticketing FAQ

Here's a brief listing of the most common questions regarding concert ticketing in general, and how Generator and TicketForce works together to bring ticketing to your site.

1. Why should I ticket my own concerts and events?

Ticketing is the biggest money maker in the entertainment business. Why send all of your most devoted fans to a third party web site to complete what is the single most important transaction they will ever make with you — and therefore allow them to collect your fans' data and convenience fees? Instead, your fans will go to your web site to buy your tickets.

2. How does your system work?

It's simple. You fill out an event set-up form here at our site (linked here), and we take care of the rest of the process. We set up your event in our system using the information you placed in your form, go through about a half dozen other questions about specific issues related to your event, and then do a final review with you prior to going live.

3. Do you offer electronic ticketing?

Yes. TicketForce offers a print-at-home option which cuts down on expenses for all parties, and makes the ticketing process fast and easy. Additional delivery methods available include Will Call or printing a hard ticket and mailing via US mail.

4. What is your computer system like to work with?

The TicketForce system is truly state-of-the-art, and allows the patron to select their own seat — just like picking a seat on an airline. You can see your sales happen in real time, and even see where those seats are being purchased in the hall. Once your tour or event is live, you will receive a login and password to access your account. At that point, everything pertaining to your event is available for you to see 24/7/365. For a full demo of the system, just drop us an email.

5. What does it cost for me to ticket concerts through Generator/TicketForce?

We charge a small set-up fee for one time events and first time set-up for reserved seating in concert halls that are not already in our system. (This is common for church concerts.) Once a venue is set up in our system, we no longer charge a hall set-up fee. We waive all set-up fees for concert tours. And we are always willing to discuss special deals for clients who are interested in making on-site ticketing a key part of their long term marketing strategy.

6. Can we make money ticketing events ourselves?

Absolutely! By simply charging a small revenue share, you can add to the profit margin of every ticket sold without impacting the profit margin for your sponsor and promoter.

7. Do we get access to the sales data?

Yes. All transaction data, including name, street address, sales information and email address, is 100% your data the moment we collect it. In fact, you can download your sales data at any time from your TicketForce login, and then upload email addresses to your Generator email database in a matter of seconds. And unlike other ticketing companies, TicketForce won't won’t use your email addresses to promote other events, and won’t resell and them to you and others to make added profit at your expense.

8. How do you guys make money on ticketing?

TicketForce and Generator charge a $2.00 revenue share on every ticket sold. You may choose to add your own revenue share to that amount — it's totally up to you. This compares to double digit convenience fees charged by other ticketing companies, none of which goes to you.

Another important aspect of our system is that you can set up combination purchase options that include music and merchandise — merch that may even be made exclusively for that specific concert. This can dramatically increase your income for a concert before the patron even shows up at the door. And the great thing is, if you sell merch during ticketing checkout, you avoid those huge merch fees at the venue.

9. How do you collect and disperse funds?

TicketForce collects all ticket funds on their electronic merchant account and remits net income and a detailed sales report directly to you within two business days of the concert.

10. What about love offering dates?

Love offering dates can be ticketed just like any other concert. A "free" ticket could be required for entry. Those tickets would carry our standard $2.00 convenience fee, which would need to be covered by the sponsor or the client. However, you may be able to more than cover that charge by selling products at checkout (the ticket is free, but the new CD is $8.99). But the great advantage to ticketing love offering events is that you collect the email addresses for every ticket sold. So, if you do 100 love offering dates in a year, you could have an email list of 100,000 names of hard core fans who have already voted with their time and pocket book to support your music.
