Wayne Watson Flash logo
Many times in the
record business, a web design firm starts with the art that the package
designer created for the physical product.
In almost every case, the CD designer gives no thought whatsoever to how a logo might appear on the web. And usually, that's a problem that is not often solved in an elegant way.
In the case of Wayne Watson, the print design firm had created a logo for Wayne's new CD that fit nicely into our site design paradigm. However, the master art was in no way ready to be used on the web.
Over the period of a week or so, we worked on taking the main logo and turning it into a set of files that could be seen in Flash. We added a fade in on each letter in Wayne's name, and then created a beautiful draw-out of the blue swirls.
In the end, this Flash logo proved to be a perfect example of how to add motion to a site without bogging it down in splash pages and agonizing pre-loaders.
